Diamondback is a new and improved, early maturing, moderately fine textured perennial ryegrass developed exclusively for winter overseeding where fast establishment and early transition is required. It has extremely good early-season establishment for rapid coverage when needed most by progressive superintendants and lawn care professionals.  We have engineered other desirable traits such as faster transition to encourage bermudagrass shoots, rhizomes and stolon regrowth in the summer.  Diamondback is moderately dark green in color, and contains less than 20% Neotyphodium lolii.  Plant growth of perennial ryegrass is dominated by aggressive basal tillering in contrast to vegetative stolons (above ground) and rhizomes (below ground).

Double Time’s patented technology is a breakthrough in the turfgrass industry.  With double the chromosomes, Double Time exhibits unique traits not seen in diploid perennials.  Larger seeds result in exceptional seedling vigor and faster coverage.  Twice the chloroplast means that Double Time retains its dark green color in the winter and spring.  The larger crown and reduced basal tillering allow sunlight through so that the companion grass can flourish when it is time to transition, which also makes Double Time ideal for mixes with slower establishing grasses.  Serving two masters:  Double Time meets the needs of both overseeding and permanent turf applications!

LineDrive GLS is an elite, new generation, heat and humidity
tolerant perennial ryegrass developed with improved gray leaf spot resistance. Gray leaf spot disease has been a limiting factor to the establishment and persistence of perennial ryegrass in the past decade in the Mid Atlantic, Mid South and Midwestern U.S. LineDrive GLS is also an endophyte enhanced perennial ryegrass with >85% Neotyphodium lolii endophyte which provides resistance to a number of leaf and crown feeding pests and improved tolerance to abiotic (non-living) and biotic (living) stress. It is highly recommended for permanent turf application in the Mid- Atlantic and U.S. transition zone where heat and humidity may limit the adaptation of perennial ryegrass turf.

A legendary grass deserves a legendary name. The Palmer family of high quality ryegrasses lives up to the standards of legendary golfer Arnold Palmer, making it a favorite with golf course superintendents. Its rich, dark-green color makes it perfect for use in tees, roughs, or fairways, especially in cool season climates and for winter overseeding in Southern states. Palmer is extremely wear-tolerant and is endophyte enhanced for natural insect resistance. Palmer III has an especially low thatch tendency and performs exceptionally by itself or in a mixture.

Palmer IV is an elite, new generation, heat and humidity tolerant perennial ryegrass developed with improved gray leaf spot resistance. Gray leaf spot disease has been a limiting factor to the establishment and persistence of perennial ryegrass in the past ½ decade in the Mid Atlantic, Mid South and Midwestern U.S. Palmer IV is also an endophyte enhanced perennial ryegrass with >90% Neotyphodium lolii endophyte which provides resistance to a number of leaf and crown feeding pests and improved tolerance to abiotic (non-living) and biotic (living) stress. It is highly recommended for permanent turf application in the Mid-Atlantic and U.S. transition zone where heat and humidity may limit the adaptation of perennial ryegrass turf. It is recommended for winter overseeding of dormant bermudagrass.

The dark green color and desirable leaf density of Prelude III make it a popular choice for golf course superintendents. It is intended for golf course greens, tees, and fairways in cool season climates and winter overseeding in the southern states. It exhibits a slower and lower growth for a cleaner cut and good winter hardiness. Prelude III is extremely wear tolerant and is endophyte enhanced for natural insect resistance. This versatile grass is great for golf course use by itself or in a blend.

Quest II is new generation leafy, fine textured variety with rapid germination, excellent traffic tolerance and poly species compatibility. Quest II sets a new standard with darker green color and endophyte enhancement in ryegrasses available to the turf professional. The plant’s dark green color means less fertilizer input to achieve and maintain beautiful turf color and fine dense leaf texture. Quest II has a shorter growth habit, has improved mowing quality, and produces more tillers per plant to fill in rapidly. Plant growth of perennial ryegrass is dominated by aggressive basal tillering in contrast to vegetative stolons (above ground) and rhizomes (below ground). Quest II is an endophyte enhanced perennial ryegrass with >96% Neotyphodium lolii endophyte which provides resistance to a number of leaf and crown feeding pests and improved tolerance to abiotic (non-living) and biotic (living) stress.

Double Time for outstanding turf quality

Gray Leaf Spot Resistance (GLS) Types

Gray leaf spot, Pyricularia grisea, or “Blast” is a limiting factor for perennial turf cultivation in the Mid Atlantic and Mid Western USA where perennial ryegrass is used for elite low height of cut turf. Breeders have recently developed varieties with significant improvements in gray leaf spot resistance.

Standard Turf Types

Improved perennial ryegrass varieties developed for continental climates in the USA. Parents to these varieties were collected from forage paddocks on Northern Europe and bred for improved turf quality in hotter, dryer climates of North America.
